Christmas Wishlist!

Christmas is looming closer and closer - I'm so unorganised this year and I really need to get my backside into gear. Usually I have all my presents done and dusted by now, my parents would have received my list months ago, third year is really taking it's toll on me, how can I not even have time to think about Christmas? *sobs* I've really struggled to even create a list for myself this year so Mum is you're reading this here's some inspo for you! Things I'd Tell My Younger Self

If I could go back in time and tell my seven-fourteen year old self all this stuff, I would. I made some horrific fashion and makeup mistakes. I made some bad decisions, I mourned bands breaking up for weeks - the list goes on. We all make mistakes, we're only human at the end of it all. Here are just a couple of things I'd tell my younger self:

Stay sassy. 

Number one rule.

Step away from the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse eyeshadow (specifically blue)

It never was a good look on you Katie, don't try and kid yourself.

You can get through the S Club 7 and Busted split. 

They get back together in a few years time then you see S Club 7 live (and you'll cry and annoy the crap out of Kayne). 

Listen to Mum, as much as you hate to admit this, she is always right. 

Your make up skills WILL improve...

So will your eyebrows, the one hair brow look was NOT a good look on reflection. 

You will become a cat lady, this is good. 

Going to University will be one of your best life experiences so far.

The stress and everything will be worth it, you'll meet some of the best people. 

Don't worry about what people think of you, haters gonna hate.

You won't remain a total fashion disaster forever... 

Some looks were not good.

WKD will NOT get you drunk.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it.

Who doesn't love a bit of Bruce Bogtrotter inspo from Matilda?

Never give up on what you believe in.  

Stay positive. 

The past is the past for a reason, don't dwell on it. Embrace the future and live for the moment.

 So you're going to have some shit times - but you're also going to have some amazing times. So stay positive and keep smiling!

Coconut Lane: Review!

So recently I was contacted by the team at Coconut Lane asking if I wanted to work with them, I decided to check out their website briefly to see if it was something I'd be interesting in and I think you all know the result!

I immediately fell in love with their products, some of their items are flawless. It took me ages to get it down to my favourites, so I decided to go with their Stay Classy Wall Art and Marble Phone Case.
I absolutely love the wall art, that saying is too true for me. This saying is just me all over - I always say I'm sassy (I'm pretty bigheaded) and being classy and bad-assy just comes with sassy. The wall art comes with a frame too which is an added bonus because it means less hassle for me. The frame is an excellent quality frame - with this wall art you're definitely getting your moneys worth. It's also well packaged so no troubles with any breakages! At the moment I have it on my desk because I don't have any damage free hangers for my wall at the moment, but I think I may keep it on my desk as it looks pretty good there!

Next up is their marble phone case in the iPhone 5S. 

This design is beautiful. It's so minimalistic and flawless. It looks amazing on my phone. It's a light phone case too I think so it's not weighing me down, it's super sturdy so I know it's made of high quality stuff. The marble pattern itself is lovely, again you're definitely getting your moneys worth with this phone case. Also, I don't know if this is the case with most phone cases (haha) but it comes slightly ridged just above the screen - I don't know whether that's to protect it when it falls but either way it's pretty cool!

All in all, I am in love with Coconut Lane. It's a fantastic little online shop. They also sell some jewellery bits which are super cute and I can't wait to buy soon! I've already told all my housemates about their website and I know a couple of them are eyeing up a few things and have requested some items for secret Santa! Blossoming Gifts - Autumn Sunset

Hey guys,

So I was recently contacted by Blossoming Gifts - an online flower company who offered the chance to collaborate with them. If I'm being honest at first I was a bit like 'wait, what?' and I had to have a good think about it because flowers is something that I don't do very often - I don't know why I just very rarely buy flowers for myself. Secondly, I did't want to review a product that I didn't feel would be beneficial to the company, readers or myself. I only ever review things on here that I believe are worth the review and I will always give my honest opinion on the item in question. The presentation, everything. Instantly the bells started going off in my head like ''Katie - do this!'' So here I am!

First things first I was stuck for choice - their Autumn range is b-e-a-u-tiful. I couldn't decide at all and in the end I went for the good ol' eenie-meenie-mini-mo trick. So I requested Autumn Sunset (which is what I was leaning more towards anyway) and it matches the colour scheme of my room at uni. Next thing I knew it was here on my doorstep the next morning- so 10/10 for the delivery time there. The flowers arrived in a sturdy box and was beautifully presented inside. 

I couldn't quite believe how beautiful the flowers were either, the quality and everything is just brilliant. I also received a box of chocolates - something my housemates and I will enjoy later - and a little card (which I thought was quite cute).

You can see from just the picture the quality of the flowers. The lilies haven't blossomed yet but when they do I just know they're going to make the bouquet even more beautiful. I didn't realise until I spoke with Blossoming Gifts and saw their work just how much effort they must go through to do a business with flowers, keeping them fresh - creating bouquets, getting the right flowers, sending them out, making sure that every bouquet is to a high quality, hats off to them.

My MAC Experience.

So I'm back after taking a week out from blogging - had major bloggers block and it was freshers week at uni so I just wanted to really let my hair down - if you have me on Snapchat or Facebook you will know what I mean. 

Today I want to write about my recent MAC experience at MAC Meadowhall. I've had two very different experiences at this MAC counter in the space of a month. The first time I went, I walked out with tears and totally embarrassed and enraged. I don't want to go too in depth with this because this post is a positive post but a particular worker was extremely rude and belittling. Some of the workers were running around like a headless chicken trying to keep all their customers satisfied. This was a Saturday, in August at around 1-2pm so you can imagine how busy it was. Anyway, I complained (naturally) to avoid similar situations happening to others and the manager was absolutely lovely and offered me a complimentary hour with the experts - something I was NOT in any way, shape or form expecting - all I was expecting was a sorry if I'm being honest and it was an incredibly kind gesture. I did say that it wasn't needed because I don't live near Sheffield so it will be a trek to get there and such. I then felt bad about complaining because of how lovely the manager was being to me on the phone. 

Anywhooo, I phoned up to book this hour with the experts - no problem. I arrived at Meadowhall hungover and questionably a tiny bit tipsy from the night before (paint party and three hours sleep is not a good combo) so I definitely looked a little bit worse for wear when I arrived at the MAC counter. I was greeted by one of their workers called Lindsey (I may/may not have spelt this wrong) who was really friendly and bubbly. This perked me up a bit because I was kinda dreading going back to MAC for obvious reasons. Lindsey was really chatty and made me feel very welcome and very at home, asked me what look I wanted - giving me tips and tricks for makeup, the lot. After the hour was up I felt like everything I ever knew about makeup was one big lie, I actually knew nothing and Lindsey opened a whole new world of make up tips and possibilities to me!  

(Now I'm sat here typing away singing A Whole New World at the top of my lungs, good job my housemates aren't in...)

Lindsey created this lovely everyday look with a pale-brown-taupe smoky eye effect and it looked beautiful. She showed me how to contour, how to make my brows look natural, the best place for highlighting - everything! She tried a more dramatic look on me with some pencil liner under my eyes - but I could feel my skin itching and swelling from the pencil liner so I asked her to take the line off and she was so good about it. I felt like a pain in the bum for asking her to take it off but my skin was already starting to react to it so not good. I was so pleased and impressed by Lindsey that I bought three quarters of the things she used on my face! In particular the eye shadow palette was amazing - she used it for my smoky eyes, contouring and highlighting! 

This time round with MAC I couldn't fault them or their customer service - all the workers that were in this time round were genuinely lovely and pleasant people. So as an afterthought, although my experience first time was horrible, this time round has completely changed my perspective on MAC and their team. I was completely put off buying their products after the August incident but as you can tell - that has been reversed. 

Ps - the eye cream is beautiful. It makes such a difference to my dark circles under my eyes.

 A huge thank you to Lindsey for making my MAC experience so good - I doubt you'll ever see this but if you do then thank you! MAC Meadowhall are super lucky to have such a passionate worker as you! Also a big, big thank you to Jade for coming with me and letting me drag her out of bed at silly o'clock whilst still a bit tipsy *monkey emoji*
