My Favourite Lipsticks For Autumn

27 October 2016

The nights are drawing in, the colours of nature are changing and so are my lipsticks! This can only mean one thing... autumn is coming! (Well, it's basically here but you know what I mean)

Since it's autumn. It only seemed fitting to do an updated version of my favourite lipsticks, especially for autumn! It's all about the dark lips like always. The browns, berries, deep wines, purples... The list goes on! These are my must haves when it comes to this time of year. I think they're perfect for everyday, cocktails and nights out. It just depends on how bold and brave you're feeling!

From top to bottom:
Kat Von D, Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Lolita
Charlotte Tilbury, Matte Revolution - Glastonberry
Colourpop Cosmetics, Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks - Kapow
Colourpop Cosmetics, Lippie Stix - Grunge
Kylie Cosmetics - Kourt K

As you can see, they're all gorgeous pigmented shades - all varying of course! My favourite at the moment has to be Kapow, it's just so different from any other lip shade I've owned - it's described as a 'grey taupe' on their website. It looks pretty brown in the bottle and on my swatch but on my lips it's a  really nice grey. I've worn this a few times for date nights and even just general day to day wear and I've had some lovely compliments whilst wearing it!

Kourt K has such mixed reviews from people but I can't fault it. I think I might've got lucky with the one I was sent - so many people said it was streaky and patchy but mine really isn't. This is probably the darkest shade I own baring the lip stick I purchased last year for Halloween for my Zombie Prom Queen look! I just love how Kourt K looks. For some reason when I'm wearing this shade it makes me look really different? I don't know what it is. It just seems to reshape my face so much. Maybe it's because it's a darker shade and they do that in general? I'm not sure!

Lolita is probably my most recent purchase. Once I found out Kat Von D was coming to Debenhams I was straight in there! I could only imagine the demand for her range. I quite like this lipstick because it's like a murky berry? I wouldn't say it's brown nor pink but an inbetween? It looks pretty dark on the swatch but on my lips it's gorgeous. I tend to wear this if I'm going out for a little bit and I just want a bit of colour on my lips. I've worn this for work a few times too so I'd say it's a pretty neutral day to day lip shade which is fab!

Glastonberry I have wanted for SO long. I've been eyeing this up for a good bit of 2016 so when I graduated and got a new job, I decided to treat myself to this beautiful piece of makeup. Charlotte Tilbury is pretty expensive and I can kinda see why, her range is truly amazing for the quality. The lipstick feels soooo soft on my lips, this is one of the nicest lipsticks I've ever tried for application. I adore this lipstick so much.

Grunge was one of the lipsticks I brought on a whim. Did I really need another brown lipstick? Nope, probably not. But I got it anyway since brown lipsticks are in at the moment and you can never have enough. Grunge is a huge trend right now so Colourpop definitely have got it right with this gorgeous lippie stix. 90s grunge is perfectly reflected in this lip colour. I honestly adore it and so glad I got this shade. It's creamy on application but has some insane staying power. Colourpop never fail to disappoint.

There you have it, my favourite lipsticks for autumn! It was so hard to narrow these down because there's so many shades/brands that I adore. What's your favourite colours? What lip products are your autumn go to? Let me know in the comments below!
