Favourite beauty products of 2016!

6 January 2017

Now that 2016 is over and done with, it only seems fitting to bring you my favourite products of 2016! It was incredibly hard to narrow it down to just a few products but here they are!
I know this post is a couple days later than what it should be but I'm super busy right now - no rest for the wicked! I hope you can forgive me! Without further delay, I present to you my favourite products of 2016!

First up we have the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade! Obviously this would not be a favourite products post without this beauty in here. I have never used a brow product that is as good as this one and I have had this pot of pomade for a year now (as you can probably tell by the photo) and I'm only just getting to the bottom of the pot. Priced at around 15.00, it is worth every penny. My brow game has never been so good thanks to this beautiful creation.

I wish I had Big Sexy Hair* in Florida - especially the weatherproof one. It helps to control frizz which I tend to get having such thick and long hair. This spray has some serious holding power too. I've worn this during the long grueling hours of work - controlled and tamed my mane perfectly. Worn this on nights out or meals - still perfectly in place. It's like Mary Poppins in a bottle. Just spray this on your hair once you've finished your look and you're good to go! Something I've been doing recently is french braiding my hair when wet, leaving to dry over night and then I'm left with lovely waves, I spray this on and then my hair remains that way until I next wash it. Seriously good stuff!

Ah... Lipsticks. One of my favourite forms of makeup, ever. I absolutely adore lipsticks and what they can do for you (There will be a post going into this so keep your eyes peeled) This was sooooo hard to get it down to just four lipsticks because I love them so much. But here's what I ended up with: Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Dusty Rose, Colourpop Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Kapow, Kylie Cosmetics in Ginger and Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Grunge.

A VERY quick brief of why these four made it to my favourite products:
Dusty Rose is absolutely perfect for everyday wear if you're wanting a more 'subtle' but yet knowing look. By this I mean if you want to look natural but show you have lipstick on at the same time. The staying power is incredible and ABH lipsticks never fail to impress me,

Kapow looks brown in the bottle but it's actually grey on the lips... Yep, grey. I was so unsure of this at first and thought I had royally screwed myself over with this product but I have had so many compliments when wearing it, I wear it on nights out, meals, bars - you name it!

Ginger is a gorgeous brown/orange that I absolutely adore. I'm a huge fan of Kylie Cosmetics anyway and this was the hardest decision to make. I just think Ginger is so wearable and it can be used for practically any occasion!

Grunge is that perfect shade to get you nostalgic about the 90s. Admittedly, I was born in 94 so I was extremely young but I would always steal my mums lipsticks and trying to be like those on the TV or wanting to be like my mum. This shade reminds me of that so much and the 90s was such a fun time (to me anyway, like I said I was young!) It's a perfect brown and the creamiest formula with some serious staying power.

The beauty that had me visiting every Sephora I could whilst in Orlando. I searched high and low for this and then when I had just given up hope, I waltzed into Sephora in Disney Springs and I felt like God was shining a light down on the Modern Renaissance palette. I was so excited to finally have this palette. The colours are so pigmented and there's minimal fallout which is amaaaazing. The shades seems really bright and scary but they can actually be so wearable. I love the variety of oranges, browns, pinks and reds in this palette. I often find myself reaching for this - daytime and nighttime. I love having the freedom that this palette gives me. It only seems fitting that is in my favourite products of 2016 post.

I have loved this mascara since it's first release a couple years ago. I was in second year so that must've been 2015? Correct me if I'm wrong! This mascara does things to my lashes that no other mascara has. I don't think I'll ever convert from Rollerlash. I love the fullness it creates on my lashes, how much it adds to the length and the lovely natural curl it gives them. A firm and continuous favourite throughout the year and during 2017 I'm sure!

Last but not least is the Colourpop Cosmetics Highlighter in the shade Lunch Money (left) This is my second pot of highlighter that my parents kindly got me in a set 'Cookies' for Christmas. I wear this highlighter day in, day out and I seriously can't get enough. Even Kayne compliments my highlighter when I wear this - I trained him well!
