Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Review!

5 May 2015

Hey guys,

So I'm powering through my assignments and since I'm nearly done, decided to 'treat' myself and write on here! Today, I will be reviewing Sam and Nic Chapman's latest brush collection - 'Bold Metals'. I will review the one I have so far which is the 101 triangle foundation brush! I have been really excited to try these brushes since they came out, but I didn't have the money to pay for them as they are pretty pricey. However, they are definitely worth the money. Before I purchased the 101 Foundation brush, I did the worst thing by going onto Boots website and reading the reviews. It really made me question whether it was worth the money because people were giving such bad reviews. HOWEVER, I ignored the reviews and went with my gut instinct and I'm glad I did because it's bloody amazing. People had said that it scratched their face (I was a bit bamboozled by this) and that it made their foundation streaky...  Well, I disagree with all of these reviews and say the opposite. It is incredibly soft and nice on the skin and I have very sensitive skin so literally anything at all can give me flare ups. You'll see what I mean by how good these brushes are as the post moves on!

First things first - the presentation of the brush is amazing. I really love the packaging. I also love the design of the Bold Metals collection. They are larger than the last collection in terms of length but they can still fit into my make-up bag ok (my bag is 15cm in length) These brushes also feel a lot more 'professional' than the last collection - if that can be said about brushes. I don't know why they feel so professional but I think it's the angling of the handle which I loveeeeeee. I also love the colour scheme that they've gone for: gold, silver and rose gold.

The brush is super soft! It is also the easiest applicator I've now ever used for foundation. I am a loyal user of Real Technique - I swear by them! Now, I thought that the old collection of brushes were soft... This is a whole new level of softness! It feels so smooth on my skin and applies amaaaazingly! I love the shape of the brush especially as it makes applying foundation so much easier as you can get into the 'nucks and crannys' of your face! I also like the shape of the brush, as it is triangular it really does cover a lot more of your face. I have also found that since I have begun using this brush that I haven't used as much foundation either because it really evens it on on your skin - added bonus! I have been a faithful user of the buffing brush for some time but now I have been converted to this brush shape! I love the two-tone style as well for the brush.

All in all, this brush is fabulous. I really recommend this collection to anyone, I certainly cannot wait to buy more. The only problem I have with the brushes is the price - at £22.00 it is definitely a purse burner. I would not pay much attention to the negative reviews either, as I said at the beginning just go with your gut instinct with these, I'm certainly glad I did! :) p.s. if any one else has tried the Bold Metals collection - let me know in the comments your thoughts and the brush you have tried! MAC lipstick swatch will be coming up next so make sure to check my blog again soon! Thanks for reading, I hope you liked the review!
